On the night of 25th and 26th April 1942, the German airforce
carried out major air raids on Bath. Over 400 people were killed,
and a huge amount of damage caused to buildings.
The Air Raid Damage maps show the effects of this bombing.
Two of the maps are coloured to show the severity of the damage to
buildings, and two show the exact location of each of the high
explosive bombs which fell on the city.
All four maps are available on one disk for £8. You can buy the
disk in the Record Office, or order it by post (please add
£1.50 for postage and packing to UK addresses, or
£3 to overseas addresses).
To order by post,
please download the order form here, print it off, and send it with
payment by cheque.
We regret that we are unable to offer an online
ordering service, or to accept payment by credit card, at the
moment.

The different colours show the scale of the damage - for
example green showed buildings which were seriously damaged
but capable of repair.
