Parish registers
Part of a page from a baptism register
Parish registers record baptisms, marriages and burials which took place in the parish (Anglican) church.
They are a vital source of information for family history before 1837.
We hold microfiche copies of the registers of most parishes in Bath & North East Somerset. Registers often date back to the 16th century, and we hold most up to 1900.
We also have transcripts and indexes of some registers - mainly Bath parishes for the period up to 1840.
