Avon's Aerosols

Written in 2019 by a member of a creative writing class, through a collaboration between Bath Record Office and the St. John’s Foundation.

Girls and boys, yobs and yobesses,

Running amok with aerosol sprays

Along old Avon's weed-encrusted banks

From bridge sides to bedaubing red-bricked walls,

Frenzied into leaving your 'mark', like dogs

In the park, under bushes, sensing another might pass along

The same path and must be alerted,

In your vanity, that you ‘was 'ere’ before them in Bath...
