"Historians know that history is about more than cold, factual research – it’s also about creative engagement with the stories of the recent and distant past." Michael Loveday, writing workshop leader
The writing in this exhibition was produced in response to encounters with archives, at workshops held in collaboration between Bath Record Office and writers at the St. John’s Foundation. The poems, stories, and essays show what amazing results can arise from creative engagement with historic materials.
Our sincere thanks go to Michael Loveday (author and editor) and Helen Daniels (Learning Workshop Leader for Bath Record Office) who led the workshops, and most importantly to the writers, for sharing their work with us.
