1756 weather diary by the Rector of Bath. Ref: TC Bath Churches

Written in 2019 by a member of a creative writing class, through a collaboration between Bath Record Office and the St. John’s Foundation.

He thinks it’s hot.

She thinks it’s cold.

He opens a window

then finds it closed.

She struggles to open

some bottle or tin

and finally hands it

over to him.

One twist or jiggle –

Hey Presto! – he’s in.

And so, contentedly

they live.

Sometimes we take.

Sometimes we give.
