Information

There were seven burials in the Quaker Meeting House in the period 1738-1760. From The New Bath Guide (1765), “The Quaker’s Meeting-House is at the upper End of Marchant’s Court, in the Market Place.” The chapel at the west end of Northumberland Place was superseded by one in Lower Borough Walls circa 1799 and then by the former Masonic Hall in York Street in 1866.

Six of these burials were for members of the Marchant family.
