News: ## on Tuesday, 400 to 500 seamen went about the streets of Bristol, & then met Sheriff Williams at the Council House to give their grievance. They asked for the same wages as their brethren at other ports. The Sheriff promised to use his influence on their behalf with the merchants. The latter readily agreed to comply with the honest Tars' request [? added in proof & so Bath 14 May, not London 10 May?].
